Diarrhoea can be treated via several ways. Some people would prefer using Imodium but some would rather prefer the traditional approach in treating the symptoms of diarrhoea. Drinking concentrated tea is one of the common remedies for diarrhoea. Relief can be experienced in the same day but this approach is more suitable for those who are not suffering from gastritis.
Antibiotics can be used to eliminate prolonged symptoms but make sure that you only take them for short term treatment purposes. For ordinary diarrhoea taking Imodium is good enough in getting rid of all the symptoms. Often times diarrhoea will go away in three to four days later and with medications the duration can be shortened to one or two days the most.
It is also important that the body receives adequate replacements for the lost fluids and electrolytes. When the body is seriously deprived of these two elements serious complications can occur including death. What you can do is drink plenty of water and for hospitalized cases the patient will often be treated intravenously.
In certain situations diarrhoea can get serious and it may affect you severely both physically and mentally. Many people can still withstand the pain due to diarrhoea alone, but when it is accompanied by nausea and vomiting most often you need to stay in bed until the symptoms subside.
